To Treat or not to Treat
Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:43AM If one finds Helicobacter during an endoscopy, one is honour bound to treat it no matter what the reason was for the examination. So far not controversial but could one of the reasons for not testing for Helicobacter in GORD be that the very treatment makes it worse?
This paper from the USA highlights a meta analysis of the effect of H. Pylori on the symptomatic and endoscopic changes of GORD. It found that treatment did not make it worse and and may even improve symptoms. Does this reflect what you all see?
