I am GP ST1, it will be very helpful to attend some sessions like these. The way NHS is going, everyone wants to secure and tidy their seats. It is more of passing the book game. I am very keen to manage patients in the primary care to a greater extent than now.
For this I certaainly need more knowledge and confidence. In hospital practice, we learn exactly what a house officer learns, doing the discharge letters and asking seniors for advice.
I have to confess making some inappropriate referrals, and that was because I had little knowledge about the subject.
Dr.Huddy, could you please tell us more about this course?
Many thanks

Dear PCSG members,
I am doing some interesting work down in Cornwall regarding GP gastro referrals, working out what is "unnecessary" and hopefully educating GPs to deal with dyspepsia / IBS and common LFT disturbancies without the need for referral to secondary care using the Map of Medicine resource.
I'm wondering if anyone else is doing similar?
Best wishes,
Jim Huddy
