This pathway not only aims to prompt clinicians to consider coeliac disease in those presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms, but also provides guidance on when to consider testing for coeliac disease in those without gastrointestinal symptoms such as those with extra intestinal features and those groups of patients who are at a higher risk of coeliac disease.
